What is PAINT PROTECTION FILM and Why do I need this on my vehicle?
Paint protection film, also referred to as clear bra or a "wrap", is a layer of flexible material placed over a vehicle's body panels to protect them from flying rocks, road debris and minor abrasions.
Doesn't my clear coat protect my paint?
The factory clear coat on a newer car measures approximately 2 mils thick; the average Post-it Note is around 3 mils thick. The Pro Shield and Dynoshield Paint Protection is 8mil. In other words, while your vehicles clear coat does provide some protection to the basecoat paint, there is definitely room to add additional protection to your vehicle. Adding additional protection can save you money and retain the value of your vehicle for the future.
If you remove too much clear coat when buffing/polishing, this will compromise your clear coat. The clear coat on your vehicle is working against harsh high dessert conditions in Central Oregon.
What is the difference between Dynoshield and Proshield?
DYNOshield uses a liquid top coat technology which gives DYNOshield its super hydrophobic and self healing properties, has a 10 year longevity and protects against scratches and rock chips.
PROshield has a laminated top coat. Laminated layers include an extra layer of adhesive and is not as hydrophobic as Dynoshield. This paint protection film is a 5 year, self healing and protects against scratches and rock chips.
